Our unique integrated way of working allows you to come into contact with all aspects of the field and requires experience with campaign-based working in marketing and / or communication. As the Integrated Comms Planner you will be responsible for developing and leading the Edelman approach to Comms Planning across Paid, Owned and Earned Channels. Working in partnership with practitioners from across the business, including PR, digital, creative and paid specialists, they will take the creative idea and map how it plays out across channels and describes the evolution of the story and the way the audience will experience it. Together them you will develop the strategic framework which creates compelling recommendations for clients to buy.
Planning at Edelman The Integrated Comms Planner reports to Head of Strategy and Planning and works together with Edelman consultants across the entire business. Your role is to help make Edelman’s ideas more effective, integrated and easier to buy. Our contribution takes the form of: – Communications and Channel planning – helping create activation frameworks to integrate all the interrelated disciplines which Edelman deliver into a coherent recommendation which clients can buy and which are strategically planned for Edelman content specialists to deliver on. – Campaign development – through identifying the territory which powers the creative brief or an activation strategy we use Research & Insights to anchor the campaign in trends and in what resonates with the audiences – Client consultancy – developing creative/ messaging workshops, problem-solving workshops and other engagements to bring our expertise to clients, and creating opportunities for extending and deepening the client relationships. Your responsibilities – Your strategic planning contributes to Edelman’s multidisciplinary (international) programs that include marketing, strategic communication, thought leadership and PR based on business objectives. – You are able to translate integrated communication strategies to an approach for communications planning for all channels which is messaging and narrative led and uses data and insights to connect campaigns with audiences. – You are able to bridge the gap between the (consumer) trends and the industry and determine appropriate channels for the brand based on editorial themes, target audience, brand objectives etc. – To take a view on the role for a wide range of channels and disciplines (for example, programmatic) and how they fit within the overall Edelman offering – To educate and upskill consultants and content specialists from across the agency to bring a communications planning approach into all recommendations, not just the biggest projects and pitches – Explore the intersection of culture, brands and audiences from new angles to arrive at deeper insights, more provocative communications strategies and breakthrough campaign platforms – Oversee secondary research by analyzing data research to learn new insights and support strategy and provide guidance on which key insights should inform the narrative – You are an integral advisor and part of account and campaign teams for different customers. Your qualifications and experience – 6+ years of experience in comms/digital/earned planning, insight and analysis. – Experience in an integrated marketing, advertising or public relations agency setting – Ability to translate big ideas into strategic communications planning and communications frameworks – Familiarity with using research and insights data and (market) trends to make comms planning decisions – Ability to consult on primary research and lead secondary research needs (based on core research skills in designing and executing ethnographies, focus groups and brand workshops, as well as data analysis) – Solid understanding of brand strategy and brand equity assessment – Proven track record of building effective interpersonal relationships with direct reports, strategy, creative and account management colleagues, leadership and clients – Strong presentation skills, ability to articulate smart and sometimes complex solutions in a straightforward and lucid manner to a variety of internal and external audiences – Able to contribute to developing powerful narratives to deliver insights and strategy for client buy-in – Excellent language skills in English and preferable at least understanding of Dutch language.
